Circuit 6 Round-up

Selangor FC underlined their position at the top of the table with a ruthless double over Circuit 6. Having beaten fellow title challengers Pahang Rangers 5-2 on matchday one, Marlon Oliveira Araujo scoring twice and converting a penalty, Edgar Eder Baldasso's side returned on Sunday to put fourteen goals past USM FC without reply, racing into a 9-0 half-time lead before adding five more after the break. Mohd Khairul's four-goal haul earned him the player of the match award, with Faris Johan and Marlon both among a host of contributors, as Selangor's lead at the summit grew further still.

Johor Darul Ta'zim reminded the rest of the division what they had missed after sitting out matchday one. Joao Almeida's side scored six of their eight goals against KL City FC in the second half, Alcantara Prieto Andres scoring twice either side of the break to claim the player of the match award, while Muhammad Azri Rahman added a late double of his own. KL City's only goal came through Mohamad Sufri Bin Shamil early in the second half, offering brief respite from an otherwise one-sided afternoon.

Pahang Rangers responded to their matchday one defeat in style, Felipe De Souza scoring inside the first minute as Eloy Alonso Fraile's side edged a ten-goal thriller against Terengganu 6-4. Muhamad Razin Bin A Rahim, Ahmad Harith, Hamdin Zarif Bin Mahmun, Muhammad Syarifuddin Bin Md Akhir and Mazlan Bin Abdullah all found the net, while Terengganu's Syed Shahrul continued his fine recent form with another goal to add to his display against Wipers on matchday one.

PFA Odin Sarawak, who were held 1-1 by ATM on matchday one thanks to a stoppage-time penalty, found their scoring touch against Wipers, running out 5-1 winners with all five goals arriving after the break. Zafqul Syamil opened the scoring and was named player of the match, with Burhanuddin Bin Othaman, Asyraff bin Zakaris, Airil Ambo and a stoppage-time penalty from Nurzulfahmi Nazri completing the win. Wipers, who had also lost 5-2 to Terengganu on matchday one, remain without a win to lift them off the bottom of the table, though Mohammad Haikal Warisan Bin Wakli's goal in each match offered at least some encouragement.

Across the circuit's eight fixtures, sixty-four goals were scored, a reminder that few matches in the MPFL this season have been won by narrow margins.
