Kuala Lumpur City's futsal club was founded in 2009 to represent the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur in FAM's national futsal pyramid, and is now aligned with Kuala Lumpur City FC.
The parent club traces its roots to the Federal Territory Football Association, formed in 1975.
KL City have competed in the national futsal league since 2017 without a title, their best returns coming in mid-table top-flight finishes.
KL City FC represented Kuala Lumpur in the 2025 Malaysia Premier Futsal League Division 1, finishing mid-table in a challenging season.
They ended 5th with 14 points from 14 matches (4 wins, 2 draws, 8 losses), scoring 41 goals and conceding 65 for a -24 goal difference. Highlights included a competitive showing against champions JDT, though they struggled overall against top teams.
KL City qualified for the Malaysia Futsal Cup but exited in the quarter-finals with an 8-1 loss to Selangor FC. The team played home games at local venues, focusing on building momentum late in the campaign.
