In the standout fixture of the weekend, Selangor preserved their perfect record with a 5-3 victory over two-time champions Johor Darul Ta'zim, Evandro scoring a hat-trick to settle a top-of-the-table meeting.
Selangor could not have asked for a better start. Marlon, the league's leading scorer, struck inside two minutes, and Evandro made it two a minute later to stun JDT.
Joao Almeida's side responded through Awalludin Mat Nawi on four minutes to make it 2-1, but Selangor always had an answer. Evandro restored the two-goal cushion on twenty minutes for 3-1, and although Mahadir Harahap pulled one back for JDT on twenty-three minutes, the champions could not draw level.
Evandro completed his hat-trick on twenty-nine minutes to make it 4-2. Bruno Taffy gave JDT hope when he struck on thirty-two minutes for 4-3, but Selangor had the final say almost immediately, Syahir Iqbal restoring the two-goal margin on thirty-three minutes to wrap up a 5-3 win.
Edgar Baldasso's side, with player of the match Evandro to the fore, have now won all six of their matches and sit clear at the top. For JDT, a first defeat of the campaign leaves them with ground to make up on the two sides above them as the title race takes shape.
