Match Report: Selangor 6-1 Terengganu, Semi-Final 2nd Leg

Selangor made it 18 wins out of 18 as they eased into the final of the MPFL 2026 with a comfortable 6-1 win over Terengganu in front of their own supporters in Shah Alam.

Terengganu, having lost the first leg 6-2, knew that under the play-off format a win by any scoreline would take the match into extra time but they were hit by two early Selangor goals.

Mohd Khairul opened the scoring after six minutes, and a minute later Syahir Iqbal added a second having also scored in the first leg.

Two more goals followed before half time to effectively put the tie out of Terengganu's reach, Evandro Borges with his 15th of the season and Faris Johan sent Edgar Baldasso's side in 4-0 ahead at half time.

The second half was quieter in terms of goals, Farhan Khairul scored his first goal since early September to make it five.

Despite the win there would be no clean sheet for Selangor, Alif Mat Amin rounded off what's been a great season for him personally with his 25th goal of the season, only Selangor's Marlon, and Pahang's Rodrigo Da Silva and Felipe De Souza have scored more.

The five-goal cushion was restored with two minutes to go, Aidil Afiqzam with his first goal in three games to secure a 6-1 win and a place in the final.

Selangor will meet Pahang Rangers over two legs to decide who will be crowned MPFL champions 2026.

The first leg is in Kuantan on Saturday 24th October, with the second leg a week later in Shah Alam.

MVP: Farhan Khairul (Selangor)
