Match Report KL City 1-8 Johor Darul Ta'zim

Johor Darul Ta'zim opened the second day of Circuit Six with a statement of intent, sweeping KL City aside in Shah Alam to stay hard on the heels of runaway leaders Selangor.

KL City, who had come from behind to beat USM a day earlier, were quickly on the back foot. Mohd Ridzwan broke the deadlock in the 9th minute and Andresito, JDT's leading scorer, doubled the advantage a minute later. To their credit they steadied after the early double blow and trailed 0-2 at the break.

The second half was one-way traffic. Mohamad Awalludin added a third soon after the restart, Andresito got his second for the fourth, and Bruno Taffy added a fifth to move to eight for the season. KL City did have their moment when Mohamad Sufri pulled one back in the 26th minute to make it 1-5, a bright spot for Jerry Dinesh Pireira's side, but the response was instant, Muhammad Azri restoring the five-goal cushion a minute later. Muhammad Ekmal made it 1-7 before Azri rounded off his brace and the scoring in the closing stages.

Andresito's two goals took him to 11 for the season and capped an afternoon that keeps JDT within five points of Selangor, while KL City, still fourth, will look to regroup as Circuit Six continues.
