Having been overtaken at the top by Pahang earlier in the day, Selangor set about extending their 100% record against Terengganu in front of their home crowd.
With Marlon and Evandro both in the starting five, Selangor started brightly, showing the kind of build-up play that had led to them scoring thirty seven goals in their opening four matches.
However, they found Terengganu's defence in stubborn form, particularly keeper Afif Hazwan, who made a number of fine saves to deny Marlon and company.
Selangor did eventually take the lead, Evandro's cross leaving top scorer Marlon with a simple tap-in.
While the Brazilians always look to take centre stage, they are well supported by Syahir Iqbal, and he fired in a brilliant second goal with just over ten minutes gone.
Terengganu had chances, Alif Izzat hitting the post after Alif Amin's cross, Hafiz Firdaus being denied by keeper Syawal and Iqhmal Najmie seeing his shot deflected wide.
Selangor had to be patient and did eventually get a third just before the break, Evandro grabbing his fifth goal of the season.
Edgar Baldasso's side added three more in the second half to regain their place at the top of the table.
Syahir fired in another brilliant goal for his second of the match, before Marlon added two more, one from a penalty, to complete another hat-trick and move onto fourteen goals for the season.
Aidil Zakwan Zaidi turned in Fitri Haqim's cross to complete a 7-0 win and set things up for a massive match with two-time champions JDT on Sunday.
