selangor v pahang rangers
There will be another big crowd in Shah Alam for the standout circuit 6 fixture as the top two go head to head with hosts Selangor looking to extend their unbeaten record

Saturday's standout fixture brings together leaders Selangor and third-placed Pahang Rangers, a repeat of the meeting that produced the only defeat of Eloy Alonso's side's season so far. Edgar Baldasso's Selangor remain unbeaten after nine matches, sitting top with 27 points and a goal difference of plus 56, while Pahang Rangers, level on points with second-placed Johor Darul Ta'zim, will fancy their chances of a first win over the league's pace-setters.
The pair's earlier meeting this season finished 5-3 to Selangor, Marlon and Evandro Borges both scoring twice, and the pair remain the division's most feared attacking partnership. Marlon's 18 goals this season leave him just behind the league's outright top scorer, Pahang's Felipe De Souza, who has 19, with Rodrigo Da Silva a further threat on 16. That trio's battle for the golden boot adds an extra layer of interest to a match that already carries significant weight in the title race.
Pahang Rangers arrive unbeaten in Circuit 5, their only outing a 6-1 win over ATM in which De Souza and Rodrigo shared the goals, continuing a habit of sharing responsibility up front that has served them well all season. Their sole defeat, in the corresponding fixture, is the one result they will be keen to put right, and a win would take them above Selangor on goal difference alone should other results fall their way, though overtaking Baldasso's side on points remains a tall order.
For Selangor, the appeal is different: nine wins from nine, and a chance to stretch their advantage at the top before Johor Darul Ta'zim and Pahang Rangers can close the gap further. Syahir Iqbal, with 11 goals of his own, gives them a third attacking outlet that few sides in the division can match.
With both sides unbeaten in Circuit 5 and the season's biggest scoring threats on the pitch at the same time, Saturday's meeting looks set to be the pick of the round, and potentially a defining afternoon in the race for the MPFL 2026 title.
The match kicks-off at 20.30 on Saturday. You can watch all the action on the MPFLTV You Tube channel.
