The final game of Circuit 5 saw hosts Selangor take on Wipers in a top V Bottom clash.

Selangor coach Edgar Baldasso took the opportunity to rest his Brazilian duo of Marlon and Evandro Borges and the all Malaysian line-up didn’t disappoint.

They scored the opening goal after just two minutes, Aidil Shahril with his third goal of the season and that was quickly followed by a second from Faris Johan.

Wipers were having to soak up a lot of pressure but found themselves further behind, captain Khairul Effendy with a well taken goal.

In addition to Selangor’s two Brazilians, Syahir Iqbal has had an excellent season, he scored his 12th goal of the campaign, he also kept up his record of having scored in every match so far.

Baldasso’s side added to more before half time through Farhan Khairul and an excellent long ranger from Faaris Amsyar to make it 6-0 at half time.

It was a much quieter second half with the points already won, Syahir made it 7-0 early on but there would be no clean sheet as Wipers who’s lost 13-0 to Selangor on the opening day scored just their 8th goal of the season through Riffat Razique.

Selangor did add two more goals late in the game, Haziq Haikal scoring from close range and Adil Zakwan rounded off a 9-1 win.

Selangor go five points clear at the top ahead of JDT and Pahang Rangers. They will be back on their home court next week in Shah Alam, with their match with Pahang the standout fixture of the weekend.

Man of the Match - Syahir Iqbal (Selangor)
