Match Report: Terengganu 2-6 Selangor, Semi-Final 1st Leg
Selangor kept up their 100% record as they took a healthy lead into the second leg after 4 goals from Marlon.

Marlon scored four times, three of them inside the opening five minutes, as Selangor took a commanding 6-2 lead into the second leg of their MPFL 2026 semi-final with Terengganu at the Stadium Tertutup SUKPA in Kuantan.
Terengganu's hopes of a repeat of their play-off heroics against KL City were effectively gone before the first quarter of the match had been played. Marlon opened the scoring in the second minute, doubled the lead two minutes later and completed his hat-trick in the fifth, a burst that left a young Terengganu side, with an under-18 goalkeeper in goal, chasing the game from the outset. Muhammad Nazreen Saudi made it 4-0 in the fifteenth minute, and although Terengganu were handed a lifeline two minutes later when Selangor's Muhammad Aidil Shahril Rosli turned the ball into his own net, Marlon had the final word of the half, scoring his fourth in the nineteenth minute to send his side in at the interval 5-1 up.
The second half was a considerably more even affair, which in itself says something about how completely the first was dominated. Both sides found the net in the thirty-fifth minute, Iqhmal Najmie scoring for Terengganu and Syahir Iqbal for Selangor, to close the scoring at 6-2. Alif Mat Amin, whose first-half hat-trick had carried Terengganu past KL City in the play-offs, was kept off the scoresheet, and the only caution of the night, shown to captain Syed Shahrul after eleven minutes, reflected a match that was never allowed to become physical enough to give Terengganu a way back in. Marlon's four-goal haul made him an obvious choice as Player of the Match.
The result extends a remarkable run for Selangor, who have now won every match they have played this season, regular season and play-offs included. Across their three meetings with Terengganu this year they have scored 24 goals and conceded five.
Under this season's play-off rules, a side must win both legs to advance outright, so Terengganu's task in the second leg is not quite the formality the aggregate suggests: a win would send the tie to extra time and penalties regardless of the scoreline in Kuantan. Selangor, for their part, need only avoid defeat to book their place in the final, where they will meet the winner of the other semi-final between Pahang Rangers and JDT.
