Selangor made a real statement of intent at the start of the 2026 MPFL season. They had to be patient against PFA Odin Sarawak, but eventually found their scoring touch to secure a 9-1 win.
Selangor were the only team to win both their opening games in Circuit One, scoring 22 goals in the process, but they found PFA Odin in stubborn defensive form as shot after shot was off target, blocked or saved.
They finally made the breakthrough with five minutes of the first half to go, Marlon's clever back heel taking him into double figures for the season. His second quickly followed to double the lead, and Saiful Nizam and Khaiyum Khaimi both added before the break to send Selangor in 4-0 up.
It was all one way traffic in the second half. Evandro made it five, Syahir Iqbal got in on the act with a well taken finish, and Saiful Nizam grabbed his second of the match. Azrin Shahmin did breach the Selangor defence to deny them a clean sheet, before Khaiyum Khaimi and Evandro both completed their braces to round off the scoring.
Another impressive performance from Edgar Baldasso's side: three games, three wins, 31 goals scored. Whatever happens later, they will head into Sunday morning's match with USM at the top of the table.
