7th met 8th in the third match of Circuit 5 Matchday 1 as PFA Odin took on USM with both sides looking for just a second win of the season.

USM who beat bottom side Wipers in their last match opening the scoring, Adam Fahrin who scored twice in the last match put his side ahead with two minutes gone.

PFA Odin had picked up just one point out of the last twelve but they equalised with a good low shot as Nazwan Airil scored his first goal of the season.

Faizal Zamri’s side took the lead for the first time through Zafqul Syamil and another good finish from Dzul Idzwaniezam with a minute to go in the first half saw PFA Odin take a 3-1 lead into the break.

There was plenty of drama in the second half as USM showed great character to fight their way back into the match,Eikmal Daniel fired a brilliant shot into the top corner from long range to make it 3-2 and a tidy finish from Shahhamin Shahbani levelled the scores at 3-3.

USM had the momentum and went close to taking the lead, but Ahmad Muazzim’s shot came back off the post, and moments later Shahbani missed an open goal from a metre out when it seemed easier to score.

The big moment in the match came with a minute to go, from a USM corner, Shahbani appeared to be punched in the stomach by PFA’s Nazwan Airil, the referee gave a penalty and a red card to Shahbani which sparked fury on the PFA bench.

USM held on for a memorable 4-3 win having trailed 3-1 at the break for their second win of the season, a win that lifted them above PFA into 7th place.

Both sides are in action again on matchday 2, USM play Johor Darul Ta’zim, while PFA Odin will go up against KL City.
