USM FC 3-5 ATM

ATM recorded their first win of the new Malaysia Premier Futsal League season, with a 5-3 victory over USM FC in the opening match of Circuit Two, Matchday One.

After big defeats to Pahang Rangers and Selangor on Circuit One, ATM wasted no time in going in search of their first win of the season.

They took an early lead through captain Shamsuri Saleh with a well struck shot on the turn.

USM responded well and equalised a few minutes later, Izzat Aqiyudin with his first goal of the season.

A big turning point came with a red card for USM goalkeeper Ahmad Zuhairi, who came flying out with a high foot that fouled Bukhari Samsudin. The referee went straight for the card and USM were forced to play the next few minutes with four players.

They did not have to play long though, as Bukhari Samsudin made ATM's numerical advantage count with a well struck shot to make it 2-1. Samsudin grabbed his second of the match, another great finish to give his side a 3-1 lead at the break.

USM made a good start to the second half and grabbed a goal back, Danial Zhafirul making it 3-2.

But ATM were not to be denied, and captain and MVP Shamsuri Saleh proved to be the match winner. He scored his second and third goals of the match to complete his hat-trick, making it 5-2 and an unassailable lead for his side.

USM did reduce the deficit thanks to Aiman Naimi, but ATM picked up their first three points of the season. USM have lost their opening three games.
