Match Report: Wipers 0-1 KL City
Wipers picked up their first point of the season on matchday one. They took on a KL City side looking to consolidate their spot in the play-off places.

After finally picking up a first point of the season, Wipers took on a KL City side who’d pushed Pahang Rangers all the way on matchday one but still ended up pointless.
Most of the big chances came in the first half, Wipers’ Nabil Nizam fired just over, while at the other end Wipers keeper Faris Irfan was being kept busy saving first from Dinesh Kumar and then from Muhammad Dodie.
KL’s indiscipline has cost them on a few occasions this season, and again, after conceding five fouls, gave away another to hand Wipers a second penalty.
Nabil Nizam struck it well, but agonisingly saw the ball hit the outside of the post.
KL City went on to take the lead in the final minute of the first half, Sufri Shamil finally making the breakthrough as Jerry Dinesh’s side led 1-0 at the break.
There weren’t too many chances to speak of in the second half, KL keeper Syafiq Sabaruddin made several fine saves as Wipers pressed but couldn’t find a way back into the match.
KL held on for a single goal win, which keeps them fourth, six points clear of Terengganu.
While Wipers still only have the point earned on matchday one, this was their best circuit so far and they will look to finish the regular season strongly.
Man of the Match: Sufri Shamil (KL City)
