Match Report: Wipers 1-1 ATM
Wipers finally picked up their first MPFL point of the season as they managed to frustrate ATM in the opening game of Circuit 7 in Pahang.
Wipers picked up their first point of the MPFL 2026 season, having lost every match up to this point, as they battled to a 1-1 draw with ATM at the Stadium Tertutup SUKPA in Kuantan. It was captain and goalkeeper Faris Al Irfan who led that resistance, capping his display by being named Player of the Match.
Wipers made the breakthrough in the 14th minute through Muhammad Q Rafiq, giving the winless side the lead.
It did not last long. Two minutes later, ATM were awarded a penalty, and Muhamad Imran scored to draw his side level at 1-1. The same minute brought further drama, as Wipers were reduced to ten men when Daniel Iman was sent off, leaving Faris Al Irfan's side to see out the next few minutes of the first half a man down. The captain was kept busy either side of the interval, making several fine saves to ensure the scoreline stayed level at the break.
The second half was a more cagey affair, with neither side able to find a breakthrough despite a string of cautions. Alif Iqwan and Faizulnizam were both booked for ATM either side of the hour, while Mohamad Danial bin Abdul Dain picked up a late caution as ATM pushed for a winner. Wipers held firm at the back, their captain proving the difference between the sides. Neither goalkeeper was breached again, and the match finished honours even.
A deserved man-of-the-match award for Faris Al Irfan, whose display with ten men in front of him earned Wipers a first point of the campaign, summed up a hard-fought draw.
