Match Preview: Wipers v KL City
Fresh off their first point of the season, Wipers will be looking to build on that when they take on KL City on matchday 2

Wipers take on KL City at the Stadium SUKPA, Kuantan, in a fixture where the gulf in class could hardly be starker on paper. Bottom-placed Wipers have endured a miserable campaign, but did pick up their first point of the season on matchday 1 after a 1-1 draw with ATM, their first in twelve matches. It ended a run of results that includes some eye-watering scorelines and has left them cut adrift at the foot of the table. KL City, sitting fourth on 17 points from a similar number of games, arrive in altogether more competitive shape, with five wins and two draws underpinning a season that has kept them in touch with the top three.
Jerry Dinesh’s side pushed hosts Pahang all the way on matchday 1, eventually losing 6-4.
The pair's only previous meeting this season went firmly the way of the visitors, KL City winning 5-0 back in Circuit 1, and little in either side's form since suggests a repeat scoreline is out of the question. Wipers did at least show some resolve in their last outing, holding ATM to a 1-1 draw to register their first point of the season, but a step up to face a KL City side pushing for a top-four finish represents a far sterner test.
For KL City, this looks a chance to build momentum and keep pace with Pahang Rangers and Johor Darul Ta'zim above them, with their blend of goals from across the squad likely to prove too much for a young Wipers side still searching for its first win. For Wipers, simply avoiding another heavy defeat, and perhaps building on the fight shown against ATM, would represent a positive afternoon as they continue to search for the consistency that has eluded them all season.
