PFA Odin 5-1 Wipers
PFA Odin Sarawak had to be patient against a stubborn Wipers but picked up a second win of the season to move above USM in the MPFL table.
The bottom two met in the second game of matchday two with Wipers still looking for their first point.
This was a much more evenly matched contest and Wipers missed several chances in the first half, Haikal Warisan hit the outside of the post, Aidil Farez shot wide from a good position.
PFA Odin who conceded an equaliser in the final seconds to ATM on matchday one had the best chance of the first half, Aidil Putra seemingly had a simple tap-in to an empty net but somehow hit the post.
With 30 seconds to go of the first half Wipers keeper Amiel Nazmi made sure the sides went in level at half time when he denied Azrin Shahmin.
The second half started in similar fashion but PFA eventually took the lead, Nurzulfahmi, who’d earlier hit the side netting, set up Zafqul Syamil to open the scoring five minutes into the second half.
Wipers responded well but still couldn’t take their chances, Fakhrul Hazim was denied by the keeper and Imran Khairi blazed over from close range.
Those misses would prove costly as PFA extended their lead, Zafqul Syamil showed quick feet to set up Burhanuddin Othaman to make it 2-0, it was the 100th goal Wipers have conceded this season.
They added a third a few minutes later, Asyraff Zakaris, who was their man of the match on matchday one, making it 3-0 with nine minutes left.
Wipers adopted the powerplay in a bid to get back into the match but were caught out when Airil Ambo rolled the ball into an empty net to make it 4-0.
Wipers did get a consolation through Haikal Warisan in the final seconds, but there was still time for PFA to add a 5th from the second penalty as Wipers conceded their sixth foul of the half. Nurzulfahmi Nazri restored the foul goal cushion, as PFA recorded their second win, both of them coming over Wipers who remain pointless at the foot of the table.
