PFA Odin face ATM on Saturday in a meeting of two sides still searching for consistency in the bottom half of the table.
Going into Saturday's match, Mohd Faizal Bin Zamri's PFA Odin are eighth with five points from nine matches, while Izmir Firdaus Bin Zainal Ariff's ATM sit sixth on 10, both looking to move away from the foot of the division before Circuit 6 gathers pace.
The pair's earlier meeting this season went comfortably ATM's way, Azhar Jaafar and Bukhari Samsudin among the scorers in a 5-1 win. Samsudin will again be a threat this weekend, his four goals this season including two penalties. Imran Samsudin and Shamsuri Saleh, both with four goals apiece, round out an ATM attack capable of punishing defensive mistakes, something PFA Odin have been guilty of too often, conceding 47 goals across the campaign, second only to Wipers.
PFA Odin will look to their recent form for encouragement. Asyraff Zakaris, their leading scorer with four goals, and Safiq Hamzah have shown flashes of quality in draws with KL City and Terengganu earlier in the season, and Dzul Idzwaniezam and Zafqul Syamil offer further options going forward. A repeat of their narrow Circuit 5 defeat to USM would suggest the fight is still there, even if the points have not followed.
Neither side has won back-to-back matches all season, and both go into Saturday having lost their most recent outing, PFA Odin to KL City and ATM to Pahang Rangers. Something will have to change for either to build momentum, and with just five points separating them from safety in mid-table, both know a win here matters more than the numbers might suggest.
It shapes up as a tight, scrappy affair between two sides with plenty still to play for at the wrong end of the MPFL table.
